Samsung describes C-d0 as a touch button that has been registered as pressed for more than 10 seconds. The control can't tell a finger from a stuck key, so after that time it blocks input and shows the code. Very often the cause is outside the microwave: a cereal box or cutting board leaning on the panel, a hand resting on it while the door is closed, or a damp cloth left draped over it after cleaning. Water droplets and grease can do the same by bridging a key. Samsung's own fix is simple – cut power, clean the buttons of dust and moisture, wait and try again – and only if the code keeps returning is the keypad or control board at fault.

Checks stay on the outside of the microwave. Never remove the outer cabinet or the control panel: the high-voltage capacitor inside can hold a dangerous charge even after unplugging.

Fix it step by step
Look at what's touching the front
On countertop models squeezed between a backsplash and a cabinet, bags or boxes often end up leaning on the panel. On over-the-range units, a pot handle or a utensil holder can do it. Remove it and note whether the code followed a specific item.
Cut power the way Samsung suggests
Unplug or switch off the breaker for at least 30 seconds – two minutes is safer if the panel was wet. Over-the-range models are usually plugged in inside the cabinet above, so the breaker is often easier.
Clean with a barely damp cloth
Wipe the keys with a cloth wrung out almost dry, then dry them right away. Never spray cleaner at the panel; the liquid runs into the key edges and causes the next C-d0.
Test every key once
After restoring power, press each key briefly and let go. A key that stays down, feels mushy or makes the code return instantly is the culprit.
Keep the panel dry during cooking
Let steam escape before reaching for the panel after cooking something wet, and dry your hands first. On over-the-range models, run the vent fan while using the cooktop.

When to call a technician
Contact Samsung support or a repair shop if C-d0 comes back with nothing touching the panel, after a dry cloth wipe and a full power-down. At that point a key membrane or the control board is faulty, and replacing either means working inside the cabinet near high-voltage parts.
Frequently asked questions
Is C-d0 the same as SE?
Samsung groups them: both mean a key has read as pressed for over 10 seconds. C-d0 is the form used on newer models; SE shows up more on older ones.
Why did C-d0 appear while I was cleaning?
Wiping slowly over the panel holds keys down, and a wet cloth adds moisture that bridges them. Clean with the microwave unplugged, or wipe quickly and dry the panel afterward.
Is the last character a zero or the letter O?
It's a zero: C-d0. Seven-segment displays draw both almost identically, so C-dO, C-D0 and C-d0 all point to the same message.
Can C-d0 damage the microwave?
No. It's a protective lockout of the controls, not a sign of overheating or a magnetron problem.
