- Steering angle sensor not zeroed after an alignment, steering rack, column or suspension work, or a battery disconnect
- Faulty yaw-rate/lateral-acceleration sensor or its mounting loose
- Fault stored inside the ABS/ESC module (wheel speed, brake pressure sensor) making it flag its own data invalid
- Low voltage from a weak battery during start-up
